The Argentine Association of Sports Management and Development<\/strong> (Swimming Argentina<\/a>) is a non-profit civil entity, created with the purpose of regulating and promoting open water crossings in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. We focus especially on the history and organization of swimming crossings of iconic straits, such as the Crossing the River Plate<\/strong>, he Beagle Channel<\/strong> and the Strait of Magellan.<\/strong><\/p>

As open water swimmers who have participated in legendary crossings such as the English Channel, the Strait of Gibraltar, the Manhattan Swim and the Catalina Channel, we are intimately familiar with the international regulations that govern this sport. Based on this experience, we decided to establish a regulatory framework<\/a> in our region to preserve the safety and legacy of South American swimmers.<\/p>

Our mission is to protect the rich history of swimmers who have represented Argentina and South America internationally for over a century. To prevent undue commercialization of these events and ensure that swimmers' safety is always the priority, we formed this association. Triple Crown of the End of the World<\/strong> It arises as a challenge that seeks to align international regulations and position our region as a global benchmark in open water voyages, promoting respect for the rules established by the most prestigious maritime authorities.<\/p>

In 1923, Argentine swimmer Lilian Harrison became the first person to swim across the Rio de la Plata<\/strong>, covering the distance between Colonia, Uruguay, and Buenos Aires, Argentina. His historic feat set a precedent and proved that these waters could be conquered.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

On the other hand, American swimmer Lynne Cox made history by being the first<\/strong> in swimming in the Strait of Magellan in 1976<\/strong> and in the Beagle Channel in 1977.<\/strong> His achievements not only highlighted the possibility of swimming in cold and challenging waters, but also inspired future generations of swimmers to take on these crossings.<\/p>

Crossing from Chile to Argentina, swimming with penguins in stunning clear crisp waters of the historic channel. The organization and safety was professional and superb. This was an effort of a lifetime and worth the challenge. The mountains, the water and the amazing people made this triple crown swim something beyond belief.
